Kaiser Bill's mother, Empress Frederick of Germany, was Queen Victoria's eldest child (known, before her marriage to Emperor Frederick III, as Princess Victoria). Wilhelm was Queen Victoria's first grandchild; he was also the nephew of Edward VII and the first cousin of George V.
